Great Britain Under-18 Women began the four-team international tournament in Budapest with a 10-0 defeat at the hands of hosts Hungary U18 Women.
Hungary, who play a level above GB in the U18 Women’s World Championship structure, won the game with period scores of 5-0, 3-0 and 2-0.

Under 18’s Name Captaincy Team

Great Britain Under-18 Women have named their captaincy team for this week’s international tournament in Budapest.
Bracknell Queen Bees forward Louise Beresford will captain the team, with the assistants named as Jemma Wallis (Nottingham) and Sophie Sinclair-Reeks (Widnes Wild).

GB U20’s Arrive In Slovakia

Great Britain Under-20s have arrived in Slovakia for a week-long training camp ahead of December’s World Championship.
The camp will feature a matches against Slovakia Under-20s on Wednesday and St Polten, from Okanagan Austria, on Thursday.

Ice Hockey UK chairman Richard Grieveson is to have a meeting with clubs in Scotland this weekend as he puts forward proposals for one governing body.
The meeting will take place at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Sunday 2nd October 2016 commencing at 10am.

GB to play matches against Norway and Poland

Great Britain will play two international games against Norway, along with two games against Poland, as part of their preparations for next year’s World Championship tournament in Belfast.
Norway are ranked 11th in the world and last month qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea.

Ten UK officials given IIHF assignments

Ten Ice Hockey UK officials have been selected to officiate at IIHF tournaments in the 2016-17 season.
The selections by the IIHF to the high-profile tournaments is recognition of the high standards of the UK officials.
The officials will officiate at a variety of tournaments, including men’s, women’s, juniors and Olympic qualification.

Belfast World Championship schedule announced

The full schedule for the World Championship (Division 1B) tournament at the SSE Arena in Belfast has been confirmed.
The tournament, which is the first men’s World Championship to be held in the UK for nearly 25 years, will run from Sunday 23rd to Saturday 29th April 2017.
