GB U18s name captaincy team for World Championship

Great Britain Under-18s have named their captaincy team for the World Championship Division II Group A which gets under way in Tallinn this weekend.

The six-team tournament runs from 1st to 7th April and GB will face hosts Estonia, along with Australia, Korea, Lithuania and Poland.

Sheffield Steelers forward Liam Kirk will captain the team, with Jordan Buesa (Solway/Braehead) and Ben Solder (OHA, Canada) named as assistants.

Interim head coach, Tony Hand, said: “This is a good leadership team. They have respect in the dressing room and they lead by example on the ice.

“Having the right captaincy team is important and I think this is the perfect trio for the championship.”

GB are already in Estonia as part of the pre-championship camp and they face Poland in a warm-up game this evening.
