UK official Dalton at Olympic Final Qualifying

UK official Andy Dalton is currently officiating at the Olympic final qualifying tournament in Riga.

Hosts Latvia are in a group with Austria, Germany and Japan, with the group winners progressing to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in 2018.

Dalton was a linesman for today’s match between Germany and Japan, which saw Germany skating to a 5-0 victory.

His next assignment is tomorrow’s (Friday) game between Japan and hosts Latvia.

IHUK referee-in-chief, Simon Kirkham, said: “It makes everyone very proud to see Andy officiating at such a top-ranking tournament.

“These games this weekend are massive, with a place at the Winter Olympics at stake, and Andy is well respected to take on such high-profile games.”

Dalton recently returned from a prestigious IIHF high-performance camp in Switzerland.
