Taylor announces Great Britain Women retirement

Great Britain Women’s forward Angela Taylor has announced that she has played her last game for her country.

Taylor won GB’s player of the tournament at the World Championship Division II Group A in Maribor and also took home the Great Britain Supporters’ Club award for a second successive year (pictured).

In a special ceremony outside the rink with fans and family members from across the squad after the game, Taylor announced she has played her last game.

Taylor made her GB debut in 2002 and went on to win 54 caps, scoring 39 goals, contributing 31 assists for a total of 70 points.

GB Women’s head coach, Cheryl Smith, said: “Angela has been a massive part of Great Britain Women for well over a decade.

“It was huge for us when she came back into the programme and she has been fantastic.

“Her presence on and off the ice will be missed but I would like to congratulate Angela on an amazing career for GB.”
