GB Game Schedule Confirmed for 2026 World Championship
Great Britain’s schedule for the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship has been confirmed.
GB Women Name Squad for Inaugural Para Ice Hockey World Championship
The inaugural World Para Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship is set for August 26-31, 2025, at the Winter Stadium in Dolny Kubin, Slovakia.
The tournament will feature six teams, including Great Britain, Australia, Canada, USA, Norway, and team World, comprised of players from several nations.
GB Futures U16 Team Named
Ice Hockey UK (IHUK), England Ice Hockey (EIH) and Scottish Ice Hockey (SIH) are pleased to announce the final roster for the under-16s (2010-born) team, selected to represent Great Britain Futures at the upcoming Four Nations Tournament in Tallinn, Estonia.
Saffron Lane (Allen) Awarded an MBE
Many congratulations to Saffron Lane (Allen) who has been appointed an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list.
The 30-year-old, who won 52 caps for Great Britain, made her debut in 2011 at the IIHF Women’s World Championship Division II in Caen
GB Men in Group A at 2026 Worlds
Great Britain will based in Zurich in Group A for the IIHF Men’s Ice Hockey World Championship which takes place from 15th to 31st May 2026.
GB will face USA, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Austria and Hungary in the group stages at the 12,000-seater Swiss Life Arena.
2026 Tournaments Announced
The IIHF have confirmed the venues next year’s World Championship tournaments.
The 2026 tournament schedule was rubber-stamped at the IIHF’s annual Congress which is taking place in Stockholm during this year’s World Championship.

Under-16 Men’s Head Coach Jamie Elson says the juniors who represented Great Britain at the prestigious Watersley Ice Hockey Tournament earlier this month have an exciting future.

Great Britain secured the goal medal and promotion with a 3-0 victory over Poland on the final day of the World Championship Division I Group A in Romania.

World Championship GB Milestones
This years World Championships have seen a number of player milestones with Jackson Whistle and Brett Perlini both winning their 50th caps, Robert Dowd and GB GM Andy Buxton reaching 100 caps, and netminder Ben Bowns becoming the most capped GB Netminder.
