Lake: GB Determined To “End on a High” in Latvia

Great Britain forward Ben Lake says the team are determined to end the World Championship in Latvia on a high.

GB have four points from their six matches thanks to a victory over Belarus and an overtime defeat by Denmark.

They currently sit seventh in Group A, two points behind sixth-placed Sweden and play their final game on Tuesday against Switzerland.

“We want to show the hockey world we can compete at this level,” said Lake who set-up Mike Hammond’s goal against Denmark.

“Finishing above that bottom place is our number one goal, but also finishing the tournament on a high would be a nice thing.

“We have four points so far and if we can put together a good performance against Switzerland on Tuesday, that would be great.

“We have a couple of days rest here. We can refresh our bodies and our minds and if we do well on Tuesday, we could end the tournament on a high here.”

All of GB’s games are live on FreeSports in the UK. FreeSports is available free on Sky Channel 422, Virgin Media Channel 553, on Channel 64 on Freeview and BT and via the FreeSports Player.
