Great Britain defeated Poland 6-2 in their opening warm-up game in Suwon, Korea, as part of preparations for the upcoming World Championship Division I Group B.
GB netted twice towards the end of the opening period to take control of the game. Rachel Cartwright scored GB’s opener on 15:36 before Katie Henry doubled the lead on 17:53.
The middle period saw Ellie Wallace score a 3rd goal for GB on 23:34 and despite Poland denying a GB Shutout, it was 3-1 after 40 minutes.
GB extended their lead in the final stanza as Henry scored her second of the game on 48:11 before Lucy Beal made it 5-1 on 52:53.
Poland netted their second goal with the clock running down, but GB scord the games final goal on 55:43, thanks to Ruby Newlands as GB secured a 6-2 victory.
GB face Kazakhstan on Saturday in their final warmup game, ahead of Monday’s Tournament opening game of the World Championship between the two sides.
