GB U18 Women name squad for Poland international tournament

Great Britain Under-18 Women have named their squad for next month’s four-team international tournament in Poland.

It’s the fourth year of the tournament involving the under-18 women’s sides from GB, Hungary, Poland and Spain.

This year’s competition takes place in the Polish city of Sosnowiec and will run from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th November.

The four teams will be play each other once in a round-robin format.

GB Women’s head coach, Cheryl Smith, said: “This is a young and exciting squad and I am looking forward to seeing how they get on.

“There are new faces on the roster but also some experienced World Championship players at under-18 level, so it is a good mix.

“This tournament is always excellent preparation for the World Championship and it really will be a good test for our squad.

“The game-time they get in the three games will set them up well for Dumfries in January.”

This season’s U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B is being held at Dumfries Ice Bowl from 6th to 12th January 2019.

GB U18 Women will be joined by China, France, Poland, Netherlands and Norway.
