GB U18 3-5 DVTK JEGESMEDVEK

Great Britain were beaten 5-3 by DVTK Jegesmedvek this afternoon in Slovakia as part of the preparations for the upcoming Under-18 World Championship Division II Group A in Serbia, which gets under way at the weekend.

Szalay Boloizsar put DVTK ahead (6:52) before Adam Erskine equalised (16:18) for GB.

Artem Gryaznow put the Hungarian youngsters in-front for a second time (25:25), before four goals in just under 90 seconds.

Kocsis Botond made it 3-1 (32:28) but Louie White reduced the deficit within 16 seconds (32:44).

Jacob White-Sey levelled the game moments later (33:29), but DVTK went ahead again through Botond’s second goal of the night (33:52).

Olah Tamas secured DVTK’s victory with a goal in the third period (52:41).

Head Coach, Sean Easton, said: “Five v five we were really good and dominated both ends of the ice.

“Giving up four powerplay goals was the learning curve we needed before the tournament started. Getting used to the strict ruling in the warm-up games will help going forward.

“This is a great opportunity to get a few games and training sessions in before we start for real on Sunday.”

GB face Romania tomorrow in another warm-up game and will stay in Slovakia until Friday, before moving to their base in Belgrade for the World Championship.
