GAME 2: NORWAY v GREAT BRITAIN

Great Britain face Norway in their second game at the IIHF World Championship in Finland.

GB got their Group B campaign under way yesterday with a spirited performance against Czech Republic in a 5-1 defeat. Ben Lake scored Britain’s goal in the third period.

Norway had a day off yesterday following their opening-night 5-0 defeat by hosts Finland.

Team news
GB have a fully-fit 25-man roster to choose from and will name their 22-player matchday squad ahead of face-off.

Nineteen of Norway’s 25-man roster have had previous World Championship experience.

Their roster is made up largely of players from the domestic Ligaen, but there are also six who play in Sweden, two play in Germany and one each in Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia and the United States.

Recent meetings
Great Britain and Norway last met in two internationals games in the UK in November 2016.

Norway won 2-1 in Nottingham with Robert Farmer scoring GB’s goal.

The following night in Cardiff, Norway won 4-2 with both of GB’s goals coming from Jack Prince.
