Freesports to show GB v Torpedo Games

Great Britain’s two matches with KHL side Torpedo this weekend will be shown live on FreeSports.

GB meet Torpedo at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday 27th April (7pm) and at the Fly DSA Arena Sheffield on Sunday 28th April (4pm).

The two games are part of GB’s preparations for their first top-flight World Championship since 1994, which takes place in Slovakia next month.

Richard Webb, operations director at FreeSports, said: “We are delighted to bring more free ice hockey to fans in the UK with two international warm-up games versus top-class KHL opposition.

“After bringing an exciting season of EIHL to fans on FreeSports, we can’t wait to begin broadcasting GB men’s games live from Kosice next month.

“Our ice hockey coverage is always growing having brought the KHL, SHL, CHL and EIHL season to a close and covering the GB U18s and women’s tournaments on FreeSports this year.”

Ice Hockey UK general secretary, Andy French, said: “FreeSports really is the place to turn to if you want to see Great Britain in action.

“Their recent coverage of GB Women in Dumfries was fantastic and they have extensively covered GB at junior level in the past few years.

“Our link-up with them for the men’s team has been going on for a long time and it is fantastic they will showcase our two top-class international games against Torpedo.”

FreeSports is available free on Sky Channel 422, Virgin Media Channel 553, on Channel 64 on Freeview and BT and on Freesat Channel 252.
