FOUR NATIONS: GB U18 WOMEN 7-0 ICELAND U18 WOMEN
Great Britain beat Iceland 7-0 in their second game at the Under-18 Women’s Four Nations in Poznan.
After a memorable run to the gold-medal game in the nine-team tournament in Istanbul, they were beaten 3-1 by Spain who are promoted to Division 1.
The final with Bristol ended 1-1 before Meeyah Forbes and Lydia Lutwyche scored in the shootout to secure the title for GB.
Ellin Rees scored the winner in the extra period after netminder Emma Nichols had saved a Netherlands penalty shot with just over a minute remaining in normal time.
GB now face the Netherlands on Sunday and need a victory to stand a chance of playing for the gold medal and promotion.
It means GB finish top of Group A with two victories from two matches following their 6-0 victory over Mexico on Monday.
