WEBER TO BE GB ASSISTANT COACH FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Chuck Weber will be part of the Great Britain’s coaching set-up for the next three weeks which will include the World Championship Division I Group A at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.

The 50-year-old will undertake the role of Assistant Coach after previously working with national team at the World Championship in Zagreb in 2016.

Weber will stand-in for Adam Keefe who will provide remote support with his wife expecting their second child.

Head Coach, Pete Russell, said: “It’s great to be able to add Chuck to our coaching staff for the next few weeks.

“He has a great deal of experience and is a superb coach. Chuck is someone I trust after working with him before during our World Championship campaign in 2016.

“Adam Keefe will still very much be part of the team and will provide vital support remotely and will be part of our daily plans.”

Weber will link-up with the team today ahead of training camp getting under way this evening in Nottingham.

He’ll also make a return to his former home this weekend, the Skydome in Coventry, where he spent two seasons which included leading the Blaze to the playoff trophy in 2015.

GB host Latvia at the Skydome Arena on Sunday afternoon (5:30pm) which comes under 24 hours after the two sides meet at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham (7pm).

Britain also face Hungary twice next week – in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 25th April and in Nottingham on Wednesday 26th April (both 7:30pm).

The World Championship then gets under way on Saturday where GB will face Korea, Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Italy.
