Hutchins impressed with GB U18s ‘compete level’

Great Britain Under-18s new head coach Jeff Hutchins says he was impressed by the “compete level” of his squad at their camp in Sheffield today.

A three-day GB junior camp is currently being held in Ice Sheffield and today’s U18s on and off-ice sessions followed Wednesday’s camp for the under-20s.

Great Britain Under-16s will take to the ice tomorrow to complete the first camp ahead of the 2017-18 international season.

Hutchins, who was joined by assistants Martin Cingel and Sean Easton, said: “I thought the guys worked hard all around.

“It was great to get a first look at all the players and we look forward to seeing them again.

“It was obvious that a lot of the guys had not been on the ice for a while and at times they looked tired.

“However, I thought the compete level was quite high for a one-day camp.”
