GB U18 1-2 LITHUANIA U18 (OT)

Great Britain have secured the bronze medal at the U18 World Championship Division II Group A in Serbia following a final day which saw them lose 2-1 in overtime to Lithuania.

Lithuania took gold and promotion to Division I Group B, while Croatia claimed silver with a second-place finish.

Mykolas Skadauskas put Lithuania ahead with a neat wrist-shot (8:07), before Finley Bradon stole the puck in the slot and fired in the equaliser (23:16).

Timur Sedleckij Razin’s secured the extra point for Lithuania in overtime with a sweet top-shelf finish (63:53).

GB won three of their five matches – against Romania, Serbia and Spain – and suffered only one regulation-time defeat.

Head Coach, Sean Easton, said: “As the games went on the team improved immensely.

“I am proud to see the improvement in the players over the past week.

“They have really bought into the team ethos and played with a lot of passion.”
