GB Debut Caps for Long and Jones

Two debut caps were awarded in the Great Britain dressing room ahead of this afternoon’s game with Denmark in Group A of the World Championship in Latvia.

Sam Jones becomes the 421st player to ice for GB and Ciaran Long the 422nd and both were presented with their debut caps.

GB General Manager Andy Buxton and Ice Hockey UK General Secretary Andy French led special presentation in the dressing room just after the players had arrived at the rink.

For Jones, it’s his first-ever appearance in a GB shirt at any level while Long made five appearances for Great Britain Under-18s and 12 appearances for GB U20s.

GB captain Jonathan Phillips becomes the third player to reach 100 appearances and he was awarded a special 100th cap
