Great Britain were beaten 1-0 by hosts Poland in the final game of IHF European Cup of Nations in Sosnowiec.
The victory ensured Poland finished as group winners in the four-team tournament.
Lucas Brine had a fantastic game between the pipes, turning away 33 of the 34 shots he faced.
Renny Marr was back-up netminder and forward Patrick Larkin was once again ruled out because of injury.
Captain Ollie Betteridge went close within the opening 30 seconds as GB made a bright start to the game.
GB killed-off over a minute-and-a-half of five-on-three as Brine made a couple of superb close-range saves.
Paweł Zygmunt’s neat solo finish as the first period drew to a close proved to be the only goal of the game (17:32).
Brine continued to stand on his head through the game, making a number of top-class saves.
GB pushed for an equaliser with Betteridge having two more opportunities and Josh Waller hit the bar.
This was another impressive performance by a young GB side, many of whom gained valuable international experience.
