Defenceman Milique Martelly and forward Finlay Ulrick have been called up to the Great Britain squad for this weekend’s IIHF European Cup of Nations at the Arcelor Mittal Park ice rink in Sosnowiec following injuries to Nathanael Halbert and Kieran Brown.
GB will face hosts Poland, along with Italy and Slovenia, in the four-team tournament from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th November.
Milique Martelly
Martelly came through the Streatham junior system and won a silver and bronze medal with GB U20s, as well as being named captain in the 2024 World Championship tournament. The 21-year-old defenceman signed a two-way deal with Milton Keynes Lightning (NIHL) and Nottingham Panthers (EIHL) this season.
Finlay Ulrick
After icing for Kingston and Sheffield as a youngster, Ulrick spent the rest of his junior career in North America with Northwood School. The 25-year-old forward returned to the UK and played in the NIHL for Leeds Knights, Hull Seahawks and Sheffield Steeldogs. Following two seasons with Sheffield Steelers (EIHL), he joined Nottingham Panthers (EIHL) in the summer.
