GB scored twice in the first period and added two late goals to secure the victory on a fantastic night in Nottingham.
Netminder Mat Robson made his GB debut with Lucas Brine as back-up.
Ben Davies used his strength behind the net to set-up Jack Hopkins to score from the top of the crease (06:05).
Robson made two big close-range saves to deny Luca Frigo and Tommy Purdeller before GB made it 2-0 just before the midway point of the first period
Brad Jenion and Cole Shudra combined to set-up David Clements who scored with a neat wrist-shot from just inside the blueline (09:02).
Brett Perlini hit the right-hand post early in the second session while Johnny Curran was denied from close-range
Robson stopped Phil Pietroniro’s shot from the right-circle but was beaten by Purdeller’s close-range finish (38:41) as the period came to a close.
Ben Davies fed Cole Shudra who was stopped by a fine pad save by Jacob Smith, before Ollie Betteridge’s neat backhand finish through the five-hole.
Johnny Curran secured the victory and crowned a memorable night with an empty-net goal (58:55).
