Watkins: GB Must Stay Grounded

Assistant coach Tommy Watkins says Great Britain must stay grounded with two matches left in the World Championship in Eindhoven.

GB have won their opening three games at the tournament and sit top of the Division 1B table with eight points.

They have come from 2-0 to win 3-2 against both Croatia and Korea, while they beat Estonia 2-1 in between.

Watkins said: “We must not get carried away. Yes, these have been brilliant results so far but there is a long way to go.

“Netherlands showed last night that they are a good side and Lithuania have had a good tournament so far.

“We need to take it one game at a time and make sure we don’t get carried away with ourselves.

“What we have done so far has been excellent; the spirit, the character and the never-say-die attitude.

“The players deserve massive credit for what they’ve done so far, but they know we need to do it twice more.”
