Coach Michelle Smith says she has every faith in the young Great Britain Under-18 Women’s squad ahead of the World Championship (Division 1 Qualification), which begins in Austria tomorrow.
GB start their Division 1 Qualification campaign against Italy in Radenthein at 3:15pm local time (2:15pm UK time) tomorrow (Thursday).
The tournament is split into two groups of four and GB will also face Poland and Australia in Group B.
Hosts Austria, along with China, Kazakhstan and Romania, make up Group A.
Smith said: “I think for us as coaches, and particularly myself, the squad we have put together, we have a lot of belief in.
“We have to get them to believe in themselves.
“If everybody does their job to the best of their abilities, then we can come away with some achievements from this tournament.
“We have young players that can certainly deliver and they need to step out onto the ice and be confident.
“There is no reason why the can’t compete at this level.”
