Great Britain U16s 6-2 Scotland U17s

Great Britain Under-16s completed a successful training camp in Scotland with a 6-2 victory over Scotland Under-17s in Dumfries on Sunday.

The convincing victory came on the back of Saturday night’s 7-0 win over the same opposition.

Scotland made a great start with George Pitcaithly scoring after only 40 seconds, but GB roared back with three goals before the end of the period.

Goals from Jack Parker (2:26), Bayley Harewood (8:10) and Jarvis Hunt (19:53) gave Britain a 3-1 first-period lead.

Jordan Griffin (22:25) and Jacob Soper (39:59) netted in the second session as GB opened up a four-goal advantage.

Scott Jamieson (45:52) put a goal back for Scotland, before Tommy Huggett (59:06) rounded off GB’s victory.

Head coach, Steven Lynch, said: “This was another excellent performance and I am very happy with what I saw.

“There is a lot of talent in this under-16 programme and that has been evident throughout the weekend.

“These two games were perfect for our preparations for the Swindon tournament at the end of the month.

“It wasn’t just about the games though, we had sessions on and off the ice and it was great to get the squad together.”

GB U16s will next take part in the Spring Classic in Swindon from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th April.
