GB U18 Women squad named for Granada

Great Britain Under-18s Women’s coach Cheryl Smith has named a squad of 20 for next month’s four-team international tournament in Granada.

GB will face Spain, Hungary and Poland in the Four Nations Women’s U18 International Tournament being held in the Igloo Granada Ice Arena.

The competition will run from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th November 2017.

GB start the tournament with a game against Hungary on Friday 10th November at 4pm local time, followed by a match-up with Poland on Saturday 11th November (4pm).

GB’s final game is against hosts Spain on Sunday 12th November (7:30pm).

Cheryl Smith and her coaching staff had a chance to see the squad in action at the weekend when they drew 3-3 with Northern Conference.

“We asked for specifics and they delivered,” said Smith.

“It’s a big adjustment for them but they all did what we asked of them. Now we review and prepare for the tournament.

“We have some good foundations to work with and we are starting to see the team develop in units rather than individuals.

“Overall, the coaching staff like what we are seeing and this is all preparation for January’s World Championship.”
