Whilst the main GBSC Virtual World Championships doesn’t start until tomorrow, today we enjoyed a bonus game.
Here’s the Hungary v Great Britain game from April 2018. Here’s a chance to watch again how we made it to Pool-A and became the first team to achieve back to back Gold Medals to go from Div 1B to Div 1A to Pool A.

Whilst the COVID-19 Pandemic may have stopped us all travelling to Lausanne for the 2020 IIHF World Championships, it hasn’t stopped GBSC.
For the next 10 days we will be hosting our own Virtual World Championships featuring all of the things you would expect on a GBSC Trip – Hockey, Crazy Golf, Quizzes and a Theme Day.

Tony Hand to oversee GB Women’s programme

Tony Hand’s role within the Great Britain programme is being expanded to work with GB Women.
The National Development Head Coach – who currently oversees the men’s under-20s, under-18s and under-16s – will work with the coaches and players across the women’s set-up.

GB’s games with Canada and Kazakhstan are cancelled

Great Britain’s games against Canada and Kazakhstan have been cancelled because of the worldwide situation with the coronavirus.
GB were set to face Kazakhstan in Milton Keynes on Sunday 3rd May, followed by the sold-out match with Canada at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday 5th May.

Great Britain is unbeaten in two games so far in Group J of the Olympic Pre-Qualification Round 3, after defeating Estonia 7-1 to set up a winner-take-all finale against Hungary.

Farmer awarded 50th cap

Robert Farmer was awarded his 50th cap ahead of Great Britain’s game with Estonia at the Olympic Qualifiers at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.
The 28-year-old Lausitzer Füchse forward was presented with his cap by Ice Hockey UK general secretary Andy French in a special ceremony before the game.
