The game ended 1-1 after overtime but superb finishes from Kolbrun Gardarsdottir and April Orongan in the shootout secured the hosts the extra point.

Great Britain Under-18 Women beat Poland Under-18 Women 2-1 in their second game at the Four Nations in in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Netminder Emma Nichols impressed once again and made 30 saves, while Ellin Rees was named as GB’s player of the game.

Spain U18 Women 4-0 GB U18 Women

Great Britain Under-18 Women began the Four Nations tournament in Reykjavik with a 4-0 defeat by Spain Under-18 Women.

Netminder Emma Nichols was named player of the game as she turned away 41 of the 45 shots she faced, including 18 in the first session.

Switzerland 6-3 Great Britain

Liam Kirk scored twice to become the 2021 World Championship’s stand-alone leading goalscorer, as Great Britain were beaten 6-3 by Switzerland in their final game in Group A in Latvia.

Kirk scored his sixth and seventh goals of the group stage to go one ahead of Gregory Hofmann who was on target for the Swiss.

Czech Republic 6-1 Great Britain

The Czech Republic recorded its third straight victory with a 6-1 victory over Great Britain in Saturday’s opening Group A game in Riga.
For GB, playing its sixth game in nine days, this felt like a challenge too far. Despite another brave goaltending performance, this time from understudy Jackson Whistle, the Czechs dominated much of the play and finished with 46 shots on goal against 19 from the Brits.

Liam Kirk scored his fifth goal of the World Championship to go one clear at the top of the goalscoring charts – and Matthew Myers was named captain for the game on the special occasion of his 100th GB cap.
