Great Britain equipment manager Jason Ellery was awarded a special cap after reaching 125 games with the team in Friday’s game against Romania.
Ellery, who is know across UK ice hockey as Taffy, first came into the GB set-up in 1996.
“It is a great honour,” said Taffy. “I have been through all the ups and downs with GB ice hockey over the years.
“I have worked with some great guys and some great coaches.
“It has been a rollercoaster ride but it has been enjoyable.
“I would like to say a big thank you to Andy Buxton. He brought me back a few years ago.
“I was thinking about finishing but he wanted me to come back and I am honoured to do this job again.”
Ice Hockey UK general secretary, Andy French, said: “These caps are organised by general manager Andy Buxton.
“I think it is great that Andy has recognised Taffy in this way and he fully deserves it.
“He has been a loyal person in the GB dressing room and he is so popular, not just with the national team, but right across the UK hockey community.
“He is simply known as Taffy and some of the guys joked when Andy announced for Jason Ellery to come forward that they didn’t know who he was.
“Taffy is a massive part of the GB set-up and the national team is better for him being part of it.”
